Dean Anderson, son of the builder of the original Jack London SNARK viewing the model diorama in the Argonaut Hotel in San Francisco.
See Maritime at its finest. The realistic authentic original ship model diorama of the boat SNARK Jack London sailed from San Francisco through the South Seas to Australia in 1907-09.
Jack London, the prolific turn-of-the-last-century writer who wrote numerous sea stories and over 50 adventurous books and novels. Some written aboard the SNARK.
This impressive scaled 1" to 1' model of the SNARK is hand crafted from scratch, detailed above/below deck and done in a diorama scene of the shipyard at Hunter's Point on San Francisco Bay where the vessel was originally built in 1906-07.
The rustic sea-weathered SNARK model was constructed by Maritime artist Warren Watson (1924-1999). It is the only SNARK model diorama in the world. It stands in an 8' tall and long, hand-crafted wood and glass case, also designed by the artist.
